Malbec, Mendoza Sierra de Plata Organic
Malbec, Mendoza Sierra de Plata Organic
Mendoza - Argentina
750ml
Sierra de Plata is a wine made from 100% Malbec, a native grape variety from the South West of France and Bordeaux. The grape became less popular in Bordeaux after 1956 when frost killed off 75% of the crop. Now Malbec has become the main grape variety in Argentina, grown organically and in altitude in the province of Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes Cordillera. Its name evokes the legend of the Silver Mountain, a "legendary treasure" where the Rio de la Plata was supposed to lead what gave Argentina. Les Passuers de Vins (Wine Passers) is a large wine project introducing family heritage and connections of countries of wine, sourced and bottled in France from all areas in the world. Lionel Osmin is the founder and sources the wines as buyer, wine technician, and export manager for the entire project. His family ties are in France mainly, but also in Spain and Argentina!
